Anna Lawson

University of Leeds

Anna Lawson is Professor of Law at the University of Leeds where she is also the joint director of the University’s Centre for Disability Studies. Her work focuses on disability equality and human rights at international, national and local levels. Herself disabled, Anna has played active roles in a range of disabled people’s organisations and human rights organisations. In 2016 Anna was awarded (by the Equal Rights Trust and Industrial Law Society) the Bob Hepple Memorial Prize in recognition of her contributions to disability equality; and in 2018 she became a Fellow of the Academy of Social Science. Anna is also an honorary Master of the Bench at the Middle Temple Inns of Court and the patron of the National Association of Disabled Staff Networks in UK universities.
